RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve a request received from New Hope Center of Paris (formerly Models of the Maker) to
amend the existing Services Agreement.
POLICY ISSUE(S):
Service Agreement
BACKGROUND:
Last year during the council's budget preparation cycle, the council agreed to budget $10,000 to support
the work of Models of the Maker. One stipulation that was placed on that amount, however, was that
the money could only be spent on capital improvements at the group's facility. At this point, the group
has a new name - New Hope Center of Paris - and a new management team. They are requesting
permission to spend the $10,000 as they see fit, whether for maintenance or even operating costs. I
agree with granting them that flexibility, but the change requires city council approval since it was the
council that placed the original restriction.
