1612 RES ELECTION WAS HELD BY QUALIFIED VOTERS OF COP ON 2ND DAY OF APRIL 1974RESOLUTION NO. 1612 .
WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of the City
of Paris9 Paris, Texas, on the 2nd day of April, 1974, for the purpose
of voting for and electing four (4) members of the City Council of the
City of Paris to serve for the ensuing two (2) years, to-wit:

3. Councilman From Ward

4. Councilman From Ward
Four (4)
WHEREAS, as required by law and directed and provided by the
Charter and Ordinances of the City of Paris, such election was conducted
and held at four (4) specified and designated polling places, that is, one
polling place in each of the four (4) wards of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly ap-
pointed and designated election officials of and for the four (4) respec-
tive voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Paris, as required by law, which returns after due and deliberate
review and canvass thereof, show the following results of said election,

such election, it is declared and determined that Doyle Whitaker is the
person receiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast at such
election for Councilman From Ward One (1), and was therefore elected
to serve as Councilman From Ward One (1) and as a member of the
City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years; that
Sam M. Stone is the person receiving the highest number of votes of
the votes cast at such election for Councilman From Ward Two (2), and
was therefore elected to serve as Councilman From Ward Two (2) and
as a member of the City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing
