1643 RES CITY COUNCIL IN RES NO 1545 AUTHORIZED ACCEPTANCE OF FEDERAL AVIATION ADMIN GRANT OFFERRESOLUTION NO. 1643 ,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did in
Resolution No. 1545 authorize the acceptance of Federal Aviation
Administration Grant Offer dated 5 March, 1973, which committed
Federal funds in the amount of $5, 388. 00 for improvements at
Cox Field Municipal Airport, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, acting by and
through Kerry R. Sweatt, City Manager, duly authorized, did accept
said Grant Offer by executing the Grant Agreement; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration has issued
Amendment No. 1 to the Grant Agreement, which increases the
Federal participation from 5070 to 8270 of the project costs; and,
WHEREAS, it is determined to be in the best interest of the
City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that said amendment increasing the
maximum obligation of the United States from $5, 388. 00 to $9, 177. 95
be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, AS FOLLOWS:
l. That the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby
accept the provisions of Amendment No. 1 to Grant
Agreement for Proj ect No. 8-48 -0169 -Ol, a copy of
which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
2. That the City Manager of the City of Paris, Kerry R.
Sweatt, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed
to execute said Amendment No. 1 to Grant Agreement,
providing for Federal participation in the amount of
82% with a maximum Federal obligation of $9, 177. 95.

AMENDMENT N0. 1 TO GRANT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (hereinafter referred to as the
"F'AA") has determined it to be in the interest of the United States that the
Grant Agreement betwee FAA, acting for and on behalf of the United Statesp&~,

and the City of Paris,/Texas,, (hereinafter referre_~d to as the "Sponsor") ac-
cepted by said Sponsor on the 13th day of March 1973, be amended as hereinaftez
provided.
NOW THEREFORE WITNESSETfi:
That in consideration of the benefits to accrue to the parties hereto, the
United States of America on the one part and the Sponsor on the other part do
hereby mutually agree that the said Grant Agreement shall be and hereby is
amended:
1. By increasing the percentage of Federal participation as shown
in the first paragraph, Page 2 of the Grant Agreement from
fifty per centum of all allowable project costs to 82 per centur,i
of all allowable project costs.
2. By increasing the maximum obligation of the United States as set
forth in Paragraph 1 of the terms and conditions on Page 2 of the
Grant Agreement from $5,388.00 to $9,177.95.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to said
Grant Agreement to be duly executed.
