1656 RES CITY COUNCIL IS AWARE OF ESTHETIC VALUE OF PLAZA AREA AND ITALIAN FOUNTAINRESOLUTION NO. 1656 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is well aware of the esthetic value of the Plaza area and Italian fountain located thereon; and, WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that said fountain is in need of repair and refurbishing; and, WHEREAS, the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Paris and Lamar County, acting by and through its Chairman, Henry Braswell, has requested the City of Paris to participate in the Culbertson Fountain restoration project in cooperation with said Commission by appropriating $4, 000. 00 for said project, making grant application and administering said grant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAR IS: 1. That Joe N. McCollum, Director of Community Development of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby, on behalf of the City of Paris and the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Paris and Lamar County, authorized and directed to execute and file such applications, assurances and contracts as may be necessary to procure a grant from the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Texas and to provide such information and furnish such documents as may be required by the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration and to act as the authorized correspondent and representative in the accomplishment of the Culbertson Fountain Restoration Project. 2. That H. C. Greene, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to disburse an amount not to exceed $4, 000. 00 as 50% matching funds for grant money.
