1592 RES ARTICLE 4477-7 NOTE AUTHORIZED CREATION OF NE TX SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITYRESOLUTION NO, 1592 .
WHEREAS, Article 4477-7 note, Vernon's Texas Civil
Statutes, authorized the creation of the North East Texas Solid
Waste Management A.uthority in accordance with the provisions
of Section 6, Article 4477-7, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, with
boundaries coextensive with the boundaries of Delta, Lamar and
Red River Counties of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the North East Texas Solid Waste Management
Authority was duly and properly created, consisting of the Counties
of Delta, Lamar and Red River; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the statute creating such
Authority, the Governing Body of the City of Paris, whose 1970
census of population was 23, 44 1, is entitled to appoint five (5)
directors of the Board of Directors; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, F. D.
Mallory, III, did nominate for appointment to such Board,
James W. Farris, B. P. Denney and Kerry R. Sweatt; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, That James W. Farris, B. P. Denney and I<erry R.
Sweatt, be, and they are hereby appointed Directors of the North
East Texas Solid Waste Management Authority for a term of two
(2) years, beginning December 10, 1973 and ending December 10,
1975, and until their successors are appointed and have qualified.
