1551 RES BEEN CALLED TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL THAT PART OF LOT 2 CHANGED FROM GENERAL RETAIL TO ONE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICTRESOLUTION NO. 1551 .
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that a Part of Lot 2, City
Block 328, belonging to Louis Wolens, T. Walter Erwin, Jr. and
Lonnie S. Beasley, was at their request, by Ordinance No. 1997,
passed January 11, 1971, changed from a General Retail District (GR),
Fire Limits, and a One-Family Dwelling District No. 2(SF-2), to a
Planned Development District (PD), Community Unit Development; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that when
zoning has been granted to a less restrictive classification than the
adjacent property but not used after a reasonable period of time that
said property should be re-zoned to a more restrictive classifica-
tion; and,
WHEREAS, the property herein being considered is described
as follows:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land, being
3.0 acres, situated in the Isaac Cruise Survey, in the
City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and being a part
of the 35. 274 acre tract described in deed to Louis
Wolens, T. Walter Erwin, Jr. and Lonnie S. Beasley,
recorded in Volume 439, Page 325, Deed Records,
Lamar County, Texas, and being described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron stake on South line of Bonham
Street, at the Northwest corner of Westwood Baptist Church
tract, being the Northeast corner of aforesaid 35. 274 acre
tract;
THENCE S 0 30' W 300 feet to an iron stake the
Southwest corner of Westwood Baptist Church;
THENCE N 89 30' E 180 feet to an iron stake for
corner;
THENCE N 0 30' E 8 feet to an iron stake for corner;
THENCE N 89 30' E 100 feet to an iron stake for corner;
THENCE S 0 30' W 153. 6 feet to an iron stake for
corner;
THENCE S 89 30' W 480 feet to an iron stake for corner;
THENCE N 0 30' E 445. 6 feet to an iron stake on South
line of Bonham Street for corner;
THENCE N 89 30' E 200 feet with the South line of
Bonham Street to the place of beginning, containing 3.0 acres
of land.
Being a Part of Lot 2, City Block 328.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO UNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the above described property belonging
to Louis Wolens, T. Walter Erwin, Jr. and Lonnie S. Beasley, is
hereby referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for the purpose
of considering an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, to change
said property from a Planned Development District (PD), Community
Unit Development, to an Agricultural District (A); and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a public hearing be held
by and before the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, at
7:00 o'clock P. M. , on the 14th day of May, 1973, in connection
with the proposed re-zoning of the above described property.
