1540 RES COP AND ARK-TEX COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS JOINED TOGETHER IN ENGINEERING OF REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMRESOLUTION NO. 1540 WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas and the Ark-Tex Council of Governments have joined together in the engineering of a regional law enforcement communications system; and, jnT't3EKEA5, the system does conform to the state-wide law enforcement plan as approved by the Texas Criminal Justice Council; and, WHEREAS, bids for equipment were advertised for in six- teen regional newspapers for a period of two weeks; an d, WHEREAS, bids were acquired from two qualified bidders who met or exceeded required specifi,cations and that Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc., submitted a bid for $444,880.00, which was the low bid submitted by $53,572.70 and subject to approval of funds from the Texas Criminal Justice Council; and, WHEREAS, that portion of Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc.'s bid let for equipment to be furnished the City of Paris, as shown on E.xhibit A attached hereto at a price not to exceed $6,855.75, was the lowest and best bid; and, WHEREAS, the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, acting as the grantee, awarded the contract to Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. subject to approval of funds from the Texas Criminal Justic e Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby concur in the letting of the bid to Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. for the total amount of $444,880.00, which includes the equipment listed in Exhibit A attached hereto for a price not to exceed $6,855.75. 2. The City of Paris does hereby agree to pay to the Ark-Tex Council of Governments a sum not to exceed 25% of the total cost of the radio equipment for the City of Paris. 3. That the total sum that the City o.f Paris obligates itself for does not exceed $6,855.75, and the Director of Finance, H. C. Greene, is hereby au- thorized and directed to pay for said equipment an amount not to exceed $6,855.75. 4. That no payment be made by the City of Paris to the Ark-Tex Council of Governments until such radio equipment is installed and operating. 5. That the equipment to be installed in the City of Paris is shown in Exhibit A and that no additions or deletions to this equipment be made without a corrected resolution approved by the City Council of the City of Paris.
