1516 RES COP IN RES NO 1453 AUTHORIZED PURCHASE AND RENOVATION OF POLICE FACILITYRESOLUTION NO. 1516
WHIIREAS, the City of Paris did in Resolution No. 1453
authorize the purchase and renovation of a police facility to
be partially financed through action grants by the Texas
Criminal Justice Council; and,
WHEREAS, such project was approved at a total cost of
$140,000.00, $70,000.00 to be furnis hed by CJC and $70,000.00
to be furnished by the City of Paris; and,
WHER EAS, said project was approved by the Texas Criminal
Justice Council,designated Grant No. 1-L1-859, which provided
for CJC participation in the amount of $60,000.00; and,
WHIIZEAS, bids were let, which resulted in $21,534.00
additional renovation costs, and the Criminal Justice Council
was requested by letter dated August 17, 1972, to participate
in the additional renovation costs, and did by letter dated
September 20, 1972 approve an additional award for the renova-
tion of the Paris Police Facility in the amount of $10,767.00,
which award requires acceptance by the City of Paris; NOW,
TH IIREFOR E,
BE IT RESOLVE,D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the total cost of renovation of the Paris
Police Facility be approved in the amount of
$141,534.00, $70,767.00 to be furnished by CJC
and $70,767.00 to be furnished by the City of
Paris.
2. That Loyd Mathews, Chief, Paris Police Department,
continue as Project Director as heretofore ap-
pointed.
3. That H. C. Greene, Director of Finance, continue
as Financial Officer of said project as hereto-
fore appointed.
4. That H. C. Greene, Acting City Manager, be, and
he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and deliver, on behalf of the City of Paris, the
necessary applications, communications, instru-
ments and documents necessary for the completion
of said project.
5. That the Statement of Grar.t Award of the Texas
Criminal Justice Council, dated September 20,
1972, and the rules and conditions therein
stated, attached hereto as Fxhibit A, the
standard grant conditions and special require-
ments, are hereby accepted.
6. That the Mayor, James W. Farris, be, and he is
hereby authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, the Agreement
attached hereto as Exhibit B.

AGREEMENT
That whereas City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
hereinafter referred to as Grantee has heretofore submitted a grant applica-
tion containing standard grant conditions to the Criminal Juatice Council,
State of Texas, entitled Renovation of P.aris Police Facility
and further identified by grant number 1-L1-859 and;
Whereas, the Governor of the State of Texas has approved the grant
application ae evidenced by the Statement of Grant Award from the Criminal
. Juatice Council dated September 20> 1972, which contains certain special
requirements in addition to the standard grant conditione and;
Whereas, the Grantee desires to accept the grant award which embracea
the standard grant conditiona and special requiremente as evidenced by
the Statement of Grant Award.
Now, therefore, Grantee in consideration of the making of this grant
accepte the aforementioned Statement of,.Grant Award, the standard grant
conditions, and special requirements and further shall timely comply,
with all standard grant conditions and special requirements in the grant
application and Statement of Grant Award as evidenced by this agreement
executed by the official authorized to sign the original grant application
as preaiding officer of and on behalf of the governing body of this grantee.
