1499 RES BEEN CALLED TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL TRACTS 1 AND 2 CHANGED FROM ONE-FAMILY TO PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTR ESCLUTION NO. 1499
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that Tracis1 and 2,
hereinafter described, belonging to Rayford Walker and Covy
Williaxns, respectively, were at their request, by Ordinance No.
2059, passed December 13, 1971, chan ged from a One-Family
Dwelling District No. 2(SF-2) to a Planned Development District
(PD), Shopping Center, Fire Limits; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that when
property re-zoned for the purpose of development to some zoning
other than that of the adjacent property, that after a reason-
able period of time without the proposed development occurring,
that said property should be back zoned to the classification
it previously had; and,
WHER EAS, the property herein being considered, is de-
scribed in two tracts, as fol.lows:
TRACT 1: Situated within the corporate limits of
the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, being Lot 3,
City Block 287, and being a tract of land owned by
Rayford Walker, more particularly described as follows:
A perimeter survey of three tracts of land owned
by Wayne White and being a part of the Wyatt D1o Hay
Partition of Block A in the J. Leach Survey, located
approximately 2 miles East of Paris, Lamar County,
Texas.
Beginning at a stake 39' N 79 W from State
Highway Monument at Station 268/50 of Loop #286, the
same being the N. W. Corner of a 19.7 acre tract owned
by Covy Williams and the N. E. Corner of a 15 acre
tract owned by Wayne White;
Thence South 1585.5' a stake;
Thence West 447.7' a stake;
Thence N1-30 E 1190' a stake;
Thence West 119' a stake;
Thence North 274.2' a stake in the South Boundary
Line of Hi ghway #82 ;
Thence East along said boundary line 100' a stake;
Thence N 87-10 E along the South B. L. of said
highway 398' a conc. monument.
Thence South 79 East 78' to the place of beginning
containing 15.85 acres.
TRACT 2: Situated within the corporate limits of
the City of Paris, County of Lamar, and State of Texas,
a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, axld being a part of
a 19.7 acre tract of land conveyed Covy Williams by deed
recorded in Vol. 355, Page 201, of the Deed Records of
said County and State, being Lot 4, City Block 287, and
being a tract of land owned by Covy Williams, more par-
ticularly described as follows:
Beginning at a stake for corner in the West
Boundary Line of said Williams tract, sai d point being
265 ft. North of the Southwest corner of said tract,
said point for corner being the Northwest corner of a
3 acre tract of land conveyed the United Pentecostal
Church by Covy Williams;
Thence North 1 Deg. 05 Min. Ea,st a distance of
1320 ft. to a stake for corner in the South Boundary
Line of Loop Highway 286, said point for corner being
the present Northwest corner of said Williams tract of
1 and ;
Thence along the South and West Boundary Line of
Loop Highway 286 as follows: South 78 Deg. 14 min.
Ea,st a distance of 39 ft. to a concrete marker; South
17 Deg. 39 Min. East a distance of 776.3 ft. to a
concrete marker; South 14 Deg. East a distance of 588
ft. to an iron pin for corner at the Northeast corner
of said Church tract of land;
Thence South 89 Deg. 48 Min. West a distance of
440.5 ft. to the place of beginning and containing
7.547 acres of land.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PARIS, That Tracts 1 and 2, herein described, belonging
to Rayford Walker and Covy Williams, respectively, are hereby
referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for the purpose
of consi dering an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, to
change said tracts from a Planned Development District (PD),
Shopping Center, Fire Limits, to a One-Family Dwelling District
No. 2 (SF-2); and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a public hearing be held by
and before the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
at 7:00 o'clock P. M., on the llth day of September, 1972, in
connection with the proposed re-zoning of the two above de-
scribed tracts.
