1497 RES CITY COUNCIL IN RES NO 1449 AUTHORIZED LEASING OF SAM BELL MAXEYRESOLUTION N0. 1497 .
WHEREAS, the City Council, City of Paris, did heretofore in
City of Paris Resolution No. 1449 authorize the leasing qf the Sam
Bell Maxey property to the Lamar County Historical Society, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, City of Paris, did heretofore in
City of Paris Resolution No. 1450 authorize the application for Federal
funds to restore and improve, for public use and benefit, the Maxey
Museum at an estimated cost of $55,200.00, as approved in City of Paris
Resolution No. 1476; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development
requires, in approving the City of Paris application for funds, certain
amendments to the rental contract between the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, and the Lamar County Historical 5ociety, Inc., covering the Sam
Bell Maxey property dated November 11, 1971, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that the Mayor of the City of Paris, James W. Farris, be, and he is
hereby authorized to execute an amendment to rental contract between
the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, as Lessor, and the Lamar County
Historical Society, Inc., as Lessee, in the form approved, a copy
of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.
