1477 RES CITY COUNCIL IS DESIROUS OF COOPERATING WITH PISDRFSQLUTION NO. 1477 WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of cooperating with the Paris Independent School District in order to provide a larger and better appointed auditorium for the use of the citi- zens of Paris; and, WHIIREAS, the cost of participation to the extent of an extra 250 seats and an orchestra pit suitable to accommodate an 18 piece orchestra to the planned 1,000 seat auditorium that Paris Independent School District is building in conjunction with its new high school plant to be located within the City of Paris, is estimated at $110,750.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS? That the Mayor of the City of Paris, James W. Farris, be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract of agreement with Paris Independent School District, providing for the co- operation of the City of Paris in furnishing an extra 250 seats and an orchestra pit suitable to accommodate an 18 piece orchestra to the planned 1,000 seat auditorium of the new high school facilities being constructed within the City of Paris, which contract must provide for a plaque or other physical evi- dence of the City's participation in such auditorium; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That H. C. Greene, Director of Finance o_f the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to deliver at such appropriate time, $110,750.00 to Paris Independent School District upon certification of the architect of said project that the amount is directly attribut- able to the 250 seat and orchestra pit suitable to accommodate an 18 piece orchestra addition.
