1473 RES COP IS WITHIN AREA DECLARED TO BE DISASTER AREARFSOLUTION NO. 1473 ,
WHgZEAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is within an
area heretofore declared to be a disaster area; and,
WHER EAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desir-
ous of making application for the purpose of obtaining certain
Federal financial assistance under the Federal Disaster Act
(Public Law 606, 91st Congress) from the State Office adminis-
tering the same; and,
WHF.EZEAS, the City Council of the City of Paris determines
the necessity for making the following assurances and agree-
ments:
a. That the disaster relief work for which Federal
financial assistance is requested has been determined neces-
sary and essential in accordance with the criteria contained
in Part 1710, Code of Federal Regulations.
b. That the City of Paris is the legal entity re-
sponsible under law for the performance of the work and accepts
such responsibility.
c. That the disaster relief work for which Federal
assistance is requested will not duplicate benefits received
from another source for the same loss.
d. That any application processed will meet all
of the requirements and conditions of the Federal-State
Disaster Assistance Agreement.
e. That all information furnished will be true and
correct to the best of the knowledge and belief of the agent
and employees involved in f urnishing information.
f. That all land, easements and rights-of-way
necessary for accomplishment of the approved work will be pro-
vided without cost to the United States.
g. That the City of Paris will hold and save harm-
less the United States from any and all claims or damages due
to the approved work; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That an application for tl-e purpose of ob-
taining Federal financial assistance under the Federal
Disaster Act (Public Law 606, 91st Congress) shall be made to
the State Office administering said funds.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and di-
rected to execute said application and contracts necessary to
procure assistance.
Section 3. That the City Manager of the City of Paris
is hereby authorized to file requisitions, together with nec-
essary supporting documents and to do all other things and
acts required to be done or performed in order to obtain pay-
ments.
Section 4. The public body makes the above stated
assurances and agreements.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect this 14th
day of February, 1972.
