1470 RES TX HIGHWAY DEPT COMPLETED PLANNING A PROJECT TO FOUR-LANE LOOP HIGHWAY 286 NERESOLUTION NO. 1470
WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department has completed
planning a project to four-lane Loop Highway 286 N. E., from
U. S. Highway 271 North to U. S. Highway 271 East; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in the
process of determining the advisability of connectin g 8th
Street, N. E. or 9th Street, N. E. (Fitzhugh Avenue) with the
Southern extension of the Stillhouse Road separated grade in-
tersection with Loop Highway 286 N. E.; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT R ESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
That the City of Paris request the Texas Highway Department to
delete from the Loop Highway 286 N. E. four-lane improvement
project that portion of the Stillhouse Road - 8th Street, N. E.
or 9th Street, N. E. intersection, lying to the South of Loop
Highway 286 N. E. Southern Right-of-Way Boundary Line, and that
the Texas Highway Department proceed to complete plans, let the
contract and construct the additional two laxies of Loop Highway
286 N. E., from U. S. Highway 271 North to U. S. Highway 271
