1453 RES CITY COUNCIL AWARE OF PARIS POLICE DEPT IS HOUSED IN CRAMPED, INADEQUATE AND ANTIQUATED QUARTERSRESOLUTION NO. 1453 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is aware of the fact that the Paris Police Dep artment is housed in cramped, inadequate and antiquated quarters, and that said Department could better serve the citizens of Paris, Lamar County and this region, if a new structure of adequate size was made available; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is of the opinion that an existing structure could be purchased and reno- vated to serve the immediate and future needs of the Police Department of the City of Paris; and, WHER FAS, in order to finance such purchase and renovation, it is necessary for the City of Paris to avail itself of funds made available through action grants by the Texas Criminal Justice Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PAR I S, T FxAS , AS FOLLOWS : 1. That the City of Paris process an application for action grant from the Texas Criminal Justice Council, to assist in financing the project entitled "Renovation of Paris Police Facility", at a total cost of $140,000.00, $70,000.00 to be furnis hed by C.J.C. and $70,000.00 to be furnished by the City of Paris. 2. That Loyd Mathews, Chief, Paris Police Department, be, and he is hereby appointed Project Director. 3. That H. C. Greene, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby appointed Financial Officer of said project. 4. That C. L. Walker, City Man ager, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and de- liver, on behalf of the City of Paris, the necessary applications, communications, instruments and docu- ments necessary for the completion of said project.
