1442 RES CITY COUNCIL ON 27TH DAY OF MAY 1970 BY RES NO 1375 AUTHORIZED ITS MAYOR TO ENTER INTO APPLICATION AND AGREEMENT WITH TX WATER QUALITY BOARDRESOLUTION NO. 1442
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, did, on the 27th day of May, 1970, by Resolution No.
1375, authorize its Mayor, B. M. Felty, to enter into an
application and agreement with the Texas Water Quality Board
for financial assistance in the making of a study of possible
County-Wide or Regional Water Pollution Abatement, authorizing
said study to be made by the Engineering Firm of Hayter
Eri gineering, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager, C. L. Walker, was designated
project representative and authorized to execute and deliver
on behalf of the City of Paris and other joint participants
the necessary communications, instruments and documents for
implementing a study of possible County-Wide or Regian al Water
Pollution Abatement; and,
WHERFAS, the City of Paris did enter into "Contract for
Area-Wide Sewerage Plan" with the Texas Water Quality Board on
the 12th day of June, 1970, which contract was executed on be-
half of the City of Paris by the then Mayor, B. M. Felty; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Water Quality Board is agreeable to
extending the term of the original contract completion date for
planning work to November 27, 1971, an extension of four and
one-half months, as requested by the City of Paris; and,
WHER EAS, it is only right and proper that the City of
Paris execute the extension agreement which it requested; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That the Mayor, Jaznes W. Farris, be, and he is
hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Paris an
"Agreement Extending the Time for Completion of the Contract
for Area-Wide Sewerage Plan", dated the 12th day of July, 1971,
which provides for an extension of the completion time of the
project to be extended from thirteen months to seventeen and
one-half months, which completion date will be November 27, 1971.
