1418 RES COX FIELD IS VALUABLE ASSET OF COPRFSdLUTION NO. 1418 , WHEREAS, Cox Field, the Municipal Airport of the City of Paris, is a valuable asset of the City of Paris and must be pre- served and expanded as the need arises; and, WHER EAS, the City of Paris has for many years desired to improve and expand its airport facilities and has been aware of the necessity of proper planning before the commencing of any expansion; and, WHEREAS, Section 13 of the Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970, Public Law 91-258, dated May 21, 1970, provides for the making of planning grants to public agencies for airport master plans; and, WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of the Airport Master Plan will be $8,680.00; and, WHEREAS, considering the advantages, disadvantages and li- mitations upon the use, and accepting the requirements placed upon such a program, it is deemed that it will be to the best interest of the City of Paris that an Airport Master Plan be prepared; NOW, THEREFOR E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That an application be made to the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, for a grant in an amount authorized by Section 13 of the Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970, which amount is permanently estimated to be $5,800.00 and that the City of Paris will pay the balance of the cost from other funds available to it. 2. That C. L. Walker, City Manager of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby authorized and di- rected to execute and file such application with the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, to provide additional information and to furnish such documents as will be required by said Department, to execute such contracts as are required by said Department, and to act as the au- thorized correspondent of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas. 3. That the United Statesof America and the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, be, and they hereby are, assured of full compliance
