1409 RES BEEN CALLED ATTENTION TO CITY COUNCIL THAT TRACTS 1 AND 2 WERE BY ORD NO 1969 PASSED JULY 13 1970RESOLUTION NO. 1409 .
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that Tracts 1 and
2, hereinafter described, belonging to J. L. Jopling, were at
his request, by Ordinance No. 1969, passed July 13, 1970,
changed from an Agricultural District (A) to a Planned
Development District (PD), Community Unit Development, in the
case of Tract 1, and Planned Development District (PD),
Shopping Center, in the case of Tract 2; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that when
property re-zoned for the purpose of development to some zon-
ing other than that of the adjacent property, that after a
reasonable period of time without the proposed development
occurring, that said property should be back zoned to the
classification it previously had; and,
WHEREAS, the property herein being consid ered, is de-
scribed in two tracts, as follows:
TRACT 1: Situated partly in the corporate limits
of the City of Paris, County of Lamar and State of
Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, an d being a
part of a 25.68 acre tract of land conveyed to Julian
L. Jopling by deed recorded in Vol. 290, Page 581,
also being a part of a 21.8 acre tract of lan d con-
veyed Julian L. Jopling by deed recorded in Vol. 309,
Page 11 of the Deed Records of Lamar County, Texas.
Seginning at a stake for a corner in the North
Boundary Line of said 25.68 acre tract of lan d at the
East Boundary Line of Loop 286;
Thence South 88 Deg. 35 Min. East a distance of
767 ft. to a post at the Northeast corner of said
25.68 acre tract of land;
Thence South 1 Deg. 08 Min. West at 925 ft., being
the Northeast corner of said 21.8 acre tract of land,
continuing on a distance of 189 ft. a stake for a
corner;
Thence North 88 Deg. 35 Min. West 396 ft. a stake
in the East Boundary Line of Loop Highway 286;
Thence North along the East Boundary Line of Loop
Highway 286 as follows: North 19 Deg. 27 Min. West
181 ft., North 17 Deg. 47 Min. West 500 ft., North 16
Deg. 07 Min. West a distance of 500 ft. to the place
of beginning and containing 15.3 acres more or less.
Being a Part of Lot 5, City Block 313.
TRACT 2: Situated partly in the corporate limits
of the City of Paris, County of Lamar and State of
Beginning at a stake for a corner in the Ea.st
Boundary Line of the 21.8 acre tract of land and 189
ft. South 1 Deg. 08 Min. West of the Northeast corner
of said 21.8 acre tract of land;
Thence South 1 Deg. 08 Min. West 860 ft. to a
stake for a corner in the East Boundary Line of Loop
Highway 286;
Thence along the East Boundary Line of Loop
Highway 286 as follows: North 27 Deg. West 186 ft.;
North 25 Deg. West 434 ft.; North 19 Deg. 27 Min.
West 325 ft. to a stake for a corner;
Thence South 88 Deg. 35 Min. East a distance of
396 ft. to the place of beginning.
Being a Part of Lot 5, City Block 313.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, That Tracts 1 and 2, herein de-
scribed, belonging to J. L. Jopling, are hereby referred to
the Planning and Zoning Commission for the purpose of consider-
ing an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, to change said
tracts from a Planned Development District (PD), Community Unit
Development, and a Planned Development District (PD), Shopping
Center, to an Agricultural District (A); and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a public hearing be held by
and before the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
at 7:00 o'clock P. M., on the lOth day of May, 1971, in connec-
tion with the proposed re-zoning of the two above described
tracts.
