1408 RES BEEN BROUGHT TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL THAT FEDERAL FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO ENCOURAGE OPEN-SPACE DEVELOPMENTRESOLUTION NO. 1408
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that federal funds
are ava~lable to encourage open-space development; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris recognizes
the need for additional park area to be located in the North
East section of Paris, one having already been planned,but not
constructed, in the North West part of Paris; and,
WI-iEREAS, for such park program to advance, it is necessary
that the Mayor of the City of Paris be authorized to execute a
purchase option contract giving the City of Paris the right to
purchase a tract consisting of 5.146 acres, lying adjacent to
the North Boundary Line of Johnson Street, presently owned by
Robert H. McDougal, on or before October 1, 1971; NOW, THERE-
FORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That the Mayor, B. M. Felty, be, and he is here-
by authorized to execute a purchase option contract giving the
City of Paris an option to purchase, on or before October 1,
1971, a 5.146 acre tract of land fronting on the North Side of
Johnson Street, owned by Robert H. McDougal,at a price of $6,000.00.
