1407 RES BEEN BROUGHT TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL THERE'S PROPOSED BEFORE 62ND LEGISLATIVE SESSION OF ST OF TX HOUSE BILL 87RESOLUTION NO. 1407
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that there
is proposed before the 62nd Legislative Session of the
State of Texas, House Bill 87, which would establish a
State Utilities Commission with regulatory powers over pub-
lic utilities; and,
WHEREAS, such Comm.ission would be empowered to fix
the rates charged by all private electric, gas and telephone
utilities in Texas but would leave exempt from such Act con-
sumer`s cooperative societies or associations; NOW, THERE-
FORE,
BE IT RESOLVED SY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That it go on record as opposing the passage of
House Bill 87, which is before the 62nd Session of the
Legislature of the State of Texas; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be delivered to the Honorable A. M. Aikin, Jr. and the
Honorable Neal Solomon.
