1406 RES BEEN BROUGHT TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL THERE'S PROPOSED BEFORE 62ND LEGISLATURE OF ST OF TX SENATE BILL 303RESOLUTION NO. 1406 ,
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that there
is proposed before the 62nd Legislature of the State of
Texas, Senate Bill 303, which would create a Public Labor
Relations Board and would lead to the requirement that the
State and all of its political subdivisions bargain collec-
tively with their employees; and,
WHEREAS, the best interests of the State of Texas and
the City of Paris would not be served by the requirement
being placed thereon of collective bargaining; NOW, THERE-
FORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXl3S, That it go on record as opposing the passage
of Senate Bill 303 by the Legislature of the State of Texas
durin g its 62nd Session; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be delivered to the Honorable Ben Barnes, the Honorable Gus
Mutscher, the Honorable A. M. Aikin, Jr. and the Honorable
Neal Solomon.
