1389 RES SAM M WEISS RENDERED SERVICE TO CITIZENS OF COPRESULUTION NO. 1389 .
LVHEREAS, Sam M. Weiss has rendered long and distinguished
service to the citizens of Paris and Lamar County in working
for better roads and highways, the latest of which has
materialized in the form of four-laning Highway 271 North
from Loop Highway 286 on the North outskirts of the City
of Paris to the Red River and the Indian Nation Turnpike;
and,
VJHEREAS, it would be fit and proper for such a dis-
tinguished citizen who has rendered such a great service to
be formally recognized; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That the City of Paris shall join with the
County of Lamar and the Paris and Lamar County Chamber of
Commerce in requesting that the Highway Commission designate
U. S. Highway 271 from North Loop 286 North to Red River as
the Sam M. Weiss Freeway.
