1387 RES PUBLIC CONVENIENCE, SAFETY AND NECESSITY OF COP TO COOPERATE WITH ST OF TXRFSOLUTION NO. 1387~
WHEREAS, the public convenience, safety and necessity of
the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and of the citizens of the
City of Paris, require that the City Council of the City of
Paris coop erate with the State of Texas in every manner in
which the State Highway routes within the City of Paris may be
improved; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Texas has made it known to the
City of Paris that it is prepared to commence an illumination
project at the intersection of U. S. Highway 271 with U. S.
Highway 82 and Loop Highway 286, upon the execution of an
agreement between the State of Texas an d the City of Paris,
which provides for the installation, construction, existence,
use, operation and maintenance of said illumination project;
and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of
Paris that said contract be executed and said project be
commenced as soon as possible; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH E CITY OF PARIS2
PARIS, TEXAS, That B.-M. Felty, Mayor of said City, be, and he
is hereby autYPrized to execute on behalf of the City of Paris
the contractual agreement with the State of Texas, providing
for the installation, construction, existence, use, operation
and maintenance of certain highway illumination located at the
intersection of U. S. Highway 271 North and U. S. Highway 82
and at the intersection of U. S. Highway 271 S. E. and Loop
Highway 286, within the corporate limits of the City of Paris,
and to transmit the same to the State of Texas for appropriate
action.
