1373 RES CITY COUNCIL LEASED A CERTAIN AREA ON LAKE GIBBONSR ESOLUTION NO, 1373
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has for
several years leased a certain area on Lake Gibbons to the
Red River Valley Girl Scout Council of Texas, a corporation,
for the purpose of maintaining recreation and caxn.p facilities
for the Girl Scouts of America, located in the Red River
Valley Girl Scout Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Red River Valley Girl Scout Council of
Texas has repaired and maintained said area and facilities
thereon; and,
WHER EAS, said lease expired on the 30th day of April,
1970; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware
of the good works of the Girl Scouts, and wishes to encourage
the same by the re-leasing of said property on the same terms
and conditions as previously leased, except that the City of
Paris must have the privilege of cancelling said lease on or
before the lst day of April of each year during the term of
the 1 eas e; NOW, THER EFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That B. M. Felty, Mayor of the City of Paris,
be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into a lease for Lake
Gibbons properties presently occupied by the Red River Valley
Girl Scout Council of Texas, a corporation, with said corpora-
tion, for a period of five (5) years, beginning May 1, 1970
and continuing.for five years from date, with an option to re-
new said lease at the expiration of the primary term for an
additional period of five (5) years by giving notice in writing
of its intention to renew said lease thirty (30) days prior to
the expiration of the primary term of the lease, with said City
of Paris bein.g granted the right and privilege of cancelling
said lease on or before the 1st day of April each year during
the primary or option term.
