1368 RES DICK WRIGHT ET AL HAVE SERVED TWO TERMS ON CITY COUNCILRFSOLUTION NO. 1368
WHEREAS, Dick Wright and John W. Norton have served
two terms of two years each on the City Council of the City
of Paris; and,
WHERFAS, neither of them are eligible, under the
Charter of the City of Paris to seek re-election to the
office of Councilman o.f the City of Paris and are now re-
tiring from service as Councilmen; and,
WHEREAS, John W. Williams, Jr. has served from
January 12, 1970, serving out the unexpired term of R. A.
I{ennedy; and,
WHFREAS, it is the individual and collective judg-
ment and opinion of the City Council and all of its mem-
bers that the faithful and distinguished service of our
fellow-councilmen, Dick Wright, John W. Norton and John
W. Williams, Jr., all of whose terms expired April 15,
1970, have greatly inured to the benefit of this community
and all of its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, it is the sincere purpose and desire of the
governing body of the City of Paris to express as adequate-
ly as words will permit the keen admiration of each and all
of us for the unselfish, distinguished and sacrificial ser-
vices of Councilmen Wright, Norton and Williams as mem.bers
of this governing body, and ta record our sincere wish for
their good health and prosperity in the years that lie
ahead; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, in regular session convened, on this
the 11th day of May, 1970, that this expression of our ad-
miration and respect for Dick Wright, John W. Norton and
John W. Williams, Jr., be, and the same is hereby adopted,
and that the same be spread upon the minutes of the City
Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and that a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dick Wright, John
W. Norton and John W. Williams, Jr.
Passed and adopted by the unanimous vote of the City
Council of the City of Paris, this llth day of May, 1970.
