1353 RES HONORABLE R A KENNEDY COMPLETED THREE YEARS AND EIGHT MONTHS ON CITY COUNCIL AND MAYORRFSOLUTION NO. 1353
WHEREAS, the Honorable R. A. Kennedy has just completed
a service of three years and eight months on the City Council
of the City of Paris and has just finished serving as Mayor of
the City of Paris for a period of eight months; and,
WHER EAS, during the time Mayor Kennedy served as such
Councilman and such Mayor, he gave of his services for the best
interests of the City of Paris, whether on minor or controver-
sial matters; and,
WHER EAS, during the eight months he served the City of
Paris as Mayor, he conducted meetings of the City Council with
dignity and directness, and gave unselfishly of his time in
the investigation and disposition of whatever matters that came
before the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is aware of the sincere devotion
of R. A. Kennedy to the City of Paris and the people residing
therein, which devotion was constantly expressed by his out-
standing leadership during his term as Mayor of the City of
Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware of
its inaptness in expressing in words the kesn respect and admi-
ration of all of the members of the City Council for R. A.
Kennedy; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That we here and now express to R. A. Kennedy our
full and complete appreciation for his years of service on the
City Council and for his months of service as Mayor of the City
of Paris, and we do here and now extend to him our best wishes
for his future welfare and for his continued interest in the fu-
ture of the City of Paris.
