1324 RES PUBLIC CONVENIENCE OF PEOPLE OF COP AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NECESSITATES REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TX HIGHWAY 24RESOLUTION NO. 1324
WHEREAS, the public convenie nce of the people of the City
of Paris and the economic development of the City of Paris ne-
cessitate that said City request the extension of Texas Highway
24 in a North Easterly direction from the City of Paris, along
F. M. Highway 195 to the Albion Bridge on Red River; and,
WHFREAS, should said request be granted, it is addition-
ally requested that Texas Highway 24 then be routed around
Paris on Loop 286 and that a business route for Texas Highway
24 be designated through the downtown area; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT R ESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That it be made known that the City of Paris
favors and requests the extension of Texas Highway 24 in a
North Easterly direction from the City of Paris, along F. M.
Highway 195 to the Albion Bridge on Red River; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Paris favors
and requests, in the event Texas Highway 24 is extended, that
the same be routed around Paris on Loop 286 and that a busi-
ness route be designated through downtown Paris.
