1301 RES PUBLIC CONVENIENCE, SAFETY AND NECESSITY OF COP REQUIRE STATE HIGHWAY ROUTES BE ADEQUATELY MAINTAINEDRESOLUTION NO. 1301
WHEREAS, the p ublic convenience,safety and necessity of
the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the people of the City of
Paris, require that State Highway routes within the City be
adequately maintained; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has requested that the State
of Texas, enter upon and contribute financially to the mainte-
nance of said State Highway routes; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Texas has made it known to the City
of Paris that it will, with its forces and equipment and at its
sole cost and expense, enter upon and maintain said project,
conditioned upon the provisions concerning liabilities and re-
sponsibilities for maintenance, control, supervision, and regu-
lation, which are set out in the form attached hereto, made a
part hereof, and marked "MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE AGR EEMENT"; and,
WHEREAS, said project consists of those State Highways
and/or portions thereof, which are described and included in
said Municipal Maintenance Agreement attached hereto; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That R. A. Kennedy, Mayor of said City, be, and
he is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of
Paris, the contractual agreement with the Texas Highway
Department, providing for maintenance by the State of Texas of
Texas Highways within the corporate limits of the City of Paris.
