POLICY ISSUE(S):
BACKGROUND:
Deliberate on future amendments to the City of Paris Charter. At the meeting of January 16, 2012,
Mayor Hashmi asked that this item be discussed once a month, so that citizens would be informed in
advance of any proposed amendments to the City Charter.
Items brought forward for possible recommended charter amendments are as follows:
1. Designation of funds for infrastructure
2. Amend sections dealing with power of initiative, power of referendum and recall procedures
3. Amend sections dealing with the budget to mirror State Law
