RESOLUTION N0. 1298 <br />WHEREAS, the traffic congestion in downtown Paris, <br />Texas, is recognized by the City Council of the City of <br />Paris, Paris, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, Loop 286 circumventing the City of Paris <br />is nearing completion; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department must desig- <br />nate the rerouting of any U. S. or Texas highways if the <br />same is to be accomplished; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXA.S, That the Texas Highway Department <br />be, and it is hereby requested to reroute all U. S. and <br />Texas highways around Loop 286, and that temporarily the <br />present highway routes inside of Loop 286 be designated <br />business routes for all of said highways, and that a <br />study be made concerning the feasibility of mandatory <br />truck routes with recommendations as to best routes, <br />whether truck routes be recommended or not. <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of April, 1969. <br />James R.
