1298 RES TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN DOWNTOWN IS RECOGNIZED BY CITY COUNCILRESOLUTION N0. 1298
WHEREAS, the traffic congestion in downtown Paris,
Texas, is recognized by the City Council of the City of
Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, Loop 286 circumventing the City of Paris
is nearing completion; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department must desig-
nate the rerouting of any U. S. or Texas highways if the
same is to be accomplished; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, PARIS, TEXA.S, That the Texas Highway Department
be, and it is hereby requested to reroute all U. S. and
Texas highways around Loop 286, and that temporarily the
present highway routes inside of Loop 286 be designated
business routes for all of said highways, and that a
study be made concerning the feasibility of mandatory
truck routes with recommendations as to best routes,
whether truck routes be recommended or not.
