RESOLUTIdN NO, 1292
<br />WI1EREAS, the City of Paris desires the construction of
<br />concrete pavement and monolithic curb on U. S. Highway 271
<br />from its intersection with Loop 286, North to the City Limits
<br />of the City of Paris, which is solely the City's responsibility,
<br />and the City has requested the State of Texas, acting by and
<br />through the State Highway Department,to construct or have conti
<br />structed said concrete pavement and monolithic curb; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the State of Texas has proposed an agreement,
<br />dated the 9th day of December, 1968, whereby the State will con»
<br />struct or have constructed said work for and on behalf of the
<br />City of Faris and at the City of Paris' sole expense and has es:-
<br />timated the construction cost of said work at Seven Thousand
<br />Eight Hundred and No/100 ($7,800,00) Dollars, including contin-
<br />gencies and construction engineering; and,
<br />WHF-REAS, the City of Faris is of the opinion that it will
<br />be to the advantage of said City, its residents, and the abutting
<br />property and th e real and true owners thereof, fo r such concrete
<br />pavement and monolithic curb to be constructed on U. S. Highway
<br />271 from its intersection with Loop 286, North to the City Limits
<br />of the City of P'aris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS.?
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, That the Mayor, James R. Moore, and Members of the
<br />Council, B. M. Felty, Dick Wright, Pete Ftarham, and John W.
<br />Norton, are authorized to make, execute and deliver said agree«•
<br />ment to the State of Texas, providing for the construction of
<br />concrete pavement and monolithic curb on U. S. Highway 271 from
<br />its intersection with Loop 286, North to the City Limits of the
<br />City of Paris; and,
<br />IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
<br />of Faris is authorized to execute and deliver City of Fai.s
<br />warrant in the amount of Seven Thousand Eight Hundred and
<br />No/100 ($7,800,00) Dollars, made pa.yable to the State Treasurer,
<br />Account of Trust Fund No. 927, which warrant is to accompany the
<br />agreement which execution is herein authorized.
