1278 RES COP ADVERTISED TO RECEIVE BIDSRESOLUTION NO. 1278
WHEREAS, the City of Faris, acting by and through its
Acting City Manager, H. C. Greene, has advertised to receive
bids for the construction of a portion of 33rd Street, S. E,,
more particularly described as followse Beginning at a point
81 feet North of Lover's Lane's North Boundary Line's inter-
section with the West Boundary Line of 33rd Street, S. E. to
a point 40 feet South of the intersection of the North Boundary
Line of Audubon Road with the East Boundary Line of 33rd Street,
S, E., in all a distance of approximately 1474 f eet, and did re~
ceive bids for such project on August 1, 1968, and among the
bids was the bid of Barney Bray, Jr., whose bid was in the
amount of $29,563.22; and,
VrUIREAS, Robert Hayter, the Consultant Engineer on said
project, did advise the City Council at its regular meeting on
this, the 12th day of August, 1968, that the bid of Barney Bray,
Jr, of Paris, Texas, in the amount of $29,563,22, is the lowest
and best bid and has recommended that the same be accepted, for
a soil cement base pavement with asphalt wearing surface; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that such
bid is the lowest and best bid for such project; NOw, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
That the bid of Barney Bray, Jr, of Paris, Texas, be accepted
as the lowest and best bid, and that the City Manager, H. C.
Kennemer, be autnorized and directed to enter into a contract
with Barney Bray, Jrm of Paris, Texas, in the amount of
$29,563,22, for the construction of such project, in accordance
with the contract furnished by the Consultant Engineer, and the
plans and specifications covering said praj~?ct.
Passed and adopted this 12th day of August, 1968.
