1273 RES BEEN CALLED TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL THAT PLAT OF PORTER'S SECOND ADD'N LIES ADJACENT TO SOUTH BOUNDARY LINERESOLUTION NO. 1273
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Paris, that in the plat of Porter's Second
Addition to West Paris, Texas, as shown by said plat recorded in
Book 104, Page 482, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas, that an
alley which lies adjacent to the South Boundary Line of Lots 1
thru 17 of Bloclc D. shown to be 21 feet wide, running West from
the West Boundary Line of 25th Street, S, W., to an extension of
th e West Boundary Line of Lot 17 of Block D of said Addition, was
dedicated as shown in the plat so filed; and,
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
Council that the alley described in said plat has never been used
as an alley and that said Lots 1 thru 17 have never been used for
residential purposes and that said alley has been under fence by
the adjacent property owner on the South for mo re than forty years
and that the adjacent property owner on the North makes no claim
to said alley and do es not wish to use it as an alley; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has no intention of opening,
using or maintaining an alley 21 f eet wide, or any other width,
adjacent to the South Boundary Line of Porter's Second Addition,
adjacent to the South Boundary Line of Lots 1 thru 17 of Block D
of said Addition, because there is no one to be served by said
alley, and no necessity exists therefor; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, Jam.es R. Moore,
and_the City Clerk, H. C. Greene, be, and they are hereby authorized
to execute a quit claim deed to Donald Stone, the present owner of
the property lying adjacent to the South Boundary Line of Block D
of Forter's Second Addition to West Faris, Texas,
Fassed and adopted this 8th day of July, 1968,
