1232 RES RECENTLY FORMED IN LAMAR COUNTY THE LAMAR COUNTY WATER SUPPLY DISTRICTRESOLUTION NQ. 1232
WHEREAS, there has recently been formed in Lamar County the
Lamar County Water Supply District, creating a conservatio n and
reclamation district under Article 16, Section 59 of the State
Constitution; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the same is to purchase and distri-
bute water to the various customers within Lamar County, other
than in the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, the Lamar County Water Supply District has furnished
to the City Council of the City of Paris a pxoposed contract,
wher eby the City of Paris will sell treated water to the Lamar
County Water Supply District, and setting forth the terms and
conditions thereof, together with the places to which said treated
water is to be delivered; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris, within the next few weeks, will
have an abundance of water to furnish water to the Lamar County
Water Supply District; and,
WHEREAS, there is a need for distribution of said water
within the County, and that it will be to the benefit of the
City of Paris to enter into said contract; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARISI
That the Mayor, James M. Brunette, be, and he is hereby au»
thorized to enter into said contract, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part of this resolution.
