1221 RES ELECTION WAS HELD BY QUALIFIED VOTERS ON 4TH DAY OF APRIL 1967RESOLUTION NO. 1221 .
WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of the
City of Paris, on the 4th day of April, A,Do, 1967, for the purpose
of voting for and electing three (3) members at large of the City
Council of the City of Paris to serve for the ensuing two (2) years,
to-wit:
Three Councilmen at Large
WHEREAS, as required by law and directed and provided by the
Charter and Ordinances of the City of Paris, such election was con.
ducted and held at four (4) specified and designated polling places,
that is, one polling place in each of the four (4) wards of the
City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly ap»
pointed and designated election officials of and for the four (4)
respective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns, after due
and deliberate review and canvass thexeof, show the following re»
sults of said election, to«wit:
(1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF 269 VOTES WERE
CAST AS FOLLOWS:
For Three Councilmen at Large:
E. W. (Bill) Booth, 191 Votes;
William G. Jennings, 151 Votes;
Eddie Sawyer, 24 Votes;
Dr. B. M. Felty, 197 Votes;
Dr. James R. Moore, 227 Votes;
Write-In Candidates, Votes.
(2) IN WARD TWO (2) A TOTAL OF 42 VOTES WERE
CAST AS FOLLOWS:
For Three Councilmen at Large:
E, W. (Bill) Booth, 24 Votes;
William G. Jennings, _24 Votes;
Eddie Sawyer, 6 Votes;
Dr. B. M. Felty, 33 Votes;
Dr. James R. Moore, 35 Votes;

Dr, B. M. Felty, 115 Votes;
Dr. James R. Moore, 127 Votes;
Write-In Candidates, Votes.
NOW, THEREFORE, from the above and foregoing canvass of the
returns of the votes in the four (4) respective voting boxes in
such election, it is declared and determined that E. W. (Bill)
Booth, Dr. B.M. Felty, and Dr. James R. Moore are the persons re•-
ceiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast at such
election for Three Councilmen at Large, and are thex-efore elected
to serve as Councilmen at Large and as members of the City Council
of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris
in special session convened pursuant to the directions of the City
Charter of the City of Paris, on this the 12th day of April, A,D,,
1967.
