A RESOLUTION ORDERING AN ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE FIRST
TUESDAY IN APRIL, 1967, SAME BEING THE 4TH DAY OF APRIL, 1967, BE-
TWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 02CLOCK A. M. AND 7:00 OICLflCK P. M., BY
THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ELECTING THE FOLLOWING COUNCILMEN TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL FOR THE ENSUING TWO YEARS,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That an election be held by the qualified voters of the City of
Paris on the first Tuesday in April, 1967, same being the 4th day of April, 1967,
between the hours of 8:00 o2clock A.M. and 7:00 o=clock P.M., for the purpose
of electing three (3) merrbers of the City Council of the City of Paris as follows:
Three Councilmen at Large
as praAded in Section 16 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Paris, adopted
on November 2, 1948s and in accordance with Article IX of the Charter of the
City of Paris, adopted November 29 1948, such Councilmen to serve for the en-
suing two years.
Section 2. That the polling places and election officials of such election
shall be as follows:
Ward One (1):
Polling Place: Central Fire Station

Polling Place: Paris High School Gymnasium

Section 3. The Presiding Judge of the respective voting boxes shall designate
and appoint such additional, competent and qualified clerks for such respective
polling places and voting boxes as may be required, if any, for the efficient con-
duct of said election.
Section 4. Such election shall be held in accordance with the laws of the
State of Texas governing general and municipal elections, insofar as the same
may be applicable, and with the }rovisions of the City Charter and Ordinances
of the City of Paris.
Section 5. The Chief of Police of the City of Paris is hereby directed and
instructed to post a properly executed Notice of Election pursuant to this order
for election9 signed by the Mayor of the City of Paris, at each of the polling
places designated above, which said notices of election shall by him be posted
not less than thirty (30) days prior to said election; further, a properly executed
copy of such Notice of Election shall be published one time in the Paris News,
the official newspaper of the City of Paris and a newspaper of general circula-
tion in said City, which notice shall be published not less than twenty (20) days
before said election.
Section 6. The pay of the judges and clerks of said election is hereby
authorized and establishedas follows: $10. 00 per day for each judge and clerk;
the election judge who delivers the returns of the said election immediately after
the votes have been counted to the proper office shall, be paid an additional sum
of $2. 00 for that service, provided also, he sha11 make return of alX election
supplies not used when he makes returns of such election.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in regular
meeting at the City Hall of said City this 13th day of February, A.D., 1967.
