RESO-LUTION NO,~ 1189 • WHEREAS, construction of the Pat Mayse Dam and Reservoir was authorized by former session of the Congress of the UtZited 5tates, and contracts have been awarded for the construction of the dam and reservoir, and said construction is fifty per cent (50%) completed as of this date; ands WHEREAS, the President of the United States has placed in the Budget for the fiscal year 1967, $2, 1759 000. 00 for the completion of the Pat Mayse Dam and R. servoir; and, WtHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers of the Tul.sa District Office have stated that it will require $2, 1759 000. 00 for the completion of the Pat Mayse Dam and Reservoir; and, WHEREAS, a major plant of Campbell Soup Company, which has been in operation for some time, will reach the maximum rroduction level in 1967, and their requirements at that time for water wzll be in excess of the ability of the City of Paris., Texas to supply their required -water, NOW,, THERE H O i2E., BE IT RESQLV:ED J3Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXA,S, That the City of Paris, Texas does earnestly petition and request the Congress of the United States to appropriate $2, 175, 000. 00, as contained in the Budget of the President of the United States for the fiscal year 19679 thus enabling the City of Paris to meet its target date for the completion of the project in the year 1967.
