RESOLUTION NO, 1179 •
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Texas has heretofore determined to make
<br />certain improvements to its Water System and Water Facilities, including certain
<br />additions to its Water Treatment Plant, in order to increase the amount of water
<br />to be treated by the City of Paris; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it has contracted with the Engineering Firm of Forrest and
<br />Cotton of Dallas, Texas, to handle the design and engineering as Consulting
<br />Engineers; and,
<br />WHEREAS, they have prepared Contract No. 820-66, containing plans and
<br />specifications and terms and conditions for the construction of said addition to the
<br />Water Treatment Plant; and,
<br />WHEREAS, advertising has been made in accordance with the Charter of
<br />the City of Paris, and bids have been received at 7:00 ot'clock P. M, , February
<br />283 19669 in the Council Room, in the City Hall of the City of Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREr1S, said bids were referred to the Consulting Engineers for their
<br />tabulation and recommendation as to which of the various bids was the lowest and
<br />best bid; and,
<br />WHEREA5, the Engineering Firm of Forrest and Cotton has recomme.nded
<br />that the bid of King-Sira Constructors of Dallas, Texas, which bid is in the sum
<br />of $l, 1942 498.00, is the lowest and best bid; NO`N. THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RE.SOLVED BY THE CITY CO?JNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
<br />TEXASs That the bid of King-Sira Gonstructors of Dallas, Texas, in the amount
<br />of $l, 194, 498. 00, be, and the samt, is hereby declared the lowest and best bid
<br />for the completion of said project, and the Mayor of the City of Paris, V. E.
<br />Stewart, is authorized and directed to enter into a contract with King-Sira
<br />Constructors for the erection of said Water Treatme.nt A?ant Additions in accord-
<br />ance with the plans and specifications, and to pay therefor the sum of
<br />$1, 194, 498.00.
