1177 RES COP DETERMINED TO MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO ITS WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM

RESOLUTION NO. 117 7 . WHEREAS, the City of Paris has heretofore determined to make Cer- tain improvements to its W ater Supply System and to er ect a Raw W ater Intake and Pump Station near the Pat Mayse Dam to utilize the water from the Pat M.ayse Dam; and, W:EiEREA5, the Engineering Firm of Furrest and Cotton, Consulting Engineer s, of Dallas, Texas, has been employed to handle the Consulting Engineerst duties in connection with such project, and has prepared Contract No. 822-66, and has properly advertised for the receipt of bids as required by the Charter, and that bids were received at 7:00 o=clock P.M,, February 28, 1966, in the Council Room of the City Hall, in the City of Paris, Texas, and which bids wzre referred by the City Council to Forrest and Cotton for their recommenda.tion and tabulation, and to determine who was the lowest and best bidder; and, WHEREASS Forrest and Cotton has determined that the joint bid of Whittle Construction Co. and Missouri Rivers Constructors, Inc., of Dallas, Texas, which bid was in the amount of $3759 550. 00, was the lowest and best bid for the completion of Contract No. 822-66; NOWg THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY Tt3E CITY COTJNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TExASs That the bid of Whittle Construction Co. and Missouri Rivers Constructors, Inc..* of Dallas, Texas, in the amount of $375, 550. 00, bei and the same is hereby declared to be the lowest and best bid for the construction of Project No. 822-66, and the Mayor of the City of Paris, Texas, V. E. Stewart' is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Whittle Construction Co. and Missouri Rivers Constructors, Inc., of Dallass Texas, for the construction of said project according to the plans and specifications, and to pay them -therefor the sum of $375, 550. 00.
