A RESOLUTION ORDERING AN ELECTION TO 3E HELD QN THE
FIRST TUESDAY IN APRILs, 1966, SAME BEING TtIE 5TH DAY OFAPRIL,
1966, BETWEEN THE HOTJR:S 0.F 8:00 O;CLrJCK A, M. AND 7:00 OrCLOCK
P.M., BY THE s2'JALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PARIS., FOR THE
PJRPO;;E OF ELECTING THE FpLLrJWING COUNCILMEi1T TO SERVE AS
ME.M-13ER5 OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE ENSUING TWO YE.ARS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That an election be held by the qualified voters of the City of
Paris on the first Tuesday in April, 19662 same being the 5th day of April,
1966, between the hours of 8:00 olclock A.M. and 7:00 oiclock P.M., for the
purpose of electing four (4) members of the City Council of the City of Paris9
as follows:
One Councilman From Ward One (1)
One Council.man From Ward Two (2)
Otie Councilman From Ward Three (3)
One Councilm.an From Ward Four (4)
as provided in Section 16 of Article II of the Charter of the City of Paris,
adopted on November Z, 1948, and in accordance with Article IX of the Charter
of the City of Paris, adopted November 2, 1948, such Councilmen to serve for
the ensuing two years.
Section 2. That the polling places and election officials of such election
shall be as follows:

Section 3. The Presiding Judge of the respective voting boxes shall
designate and appoint such additional, competent and qualified clerks for such
respective polling places and voting boxes as may be required, if any, for the
efficient conduct of said election.
Section 4. Such election shall be held in accordance with the laws of the
State of Texas governing general and municipal elections, insofar as the same
may be applicable, and with the provisions of the City Charter and Ordinances
of the City of Paris.
Section 5. The Chief of Police of the City of Paris is hereby directed
and instructed to post a properly executed Notice of Election pursuant to this
order for election, signed by the Mayor of the City of Paris, at each of the
polling places designated above, w?iich said notice of election shall by him be
posted not less than thirty (30) days prior to said election; further, a properly
executed copy of such Notice of Election shall be published one time in the
Paris News, the official newspaper of the City of Paris and a newspaper of
general circulation in said City9 which notice shall be published not less than
twenty (20) days before said election.
Section 6. The pay of the judges and clerks of said election is hereby
authorized and established as follows: $10.00 per day for each judge and clerk;
the election judge who delivers the returns of the said election iminediately
after the votes have been counted to the proper office shall be paid an additional
sum of $2. 00 for that service; provided also, he shall make return of all election
supplies not used when he makes returns of such election.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in regular
meeting at the City Hall of said City, this 14th/day of February, A. Da, 1966.
