1170 RES TX HIGHWAY DEPT PROPOSES TO OPEN NEW FARM TO MARKET HIGHWAY

RESOLUTION NO. 1170 . WHERE.AS, the Texas Highway Department, through its District O`fices located in Paris, Texas, proposes to open a new Farm to Market Highway, being Farm to Market Highway 2820, which crosses portions of property be- longing to the City of Paris, known as Lake Gibbons; and, WHERE.AS, before the dedication of such highway and its constructiony it is necessary that the Texas Highway Department secure from the City of Paris certain channel easements and certain right of way deeds; and? WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department, on its regular Form D-15-14, has submitted right of way deed covering ten (10) sections of property and con- taining some 15 acres, and has also submitte3 on its Texas Highway Depart- ment Form D-15-31 channel easements on certain portions of Lake Gibbons property, there being ten (10) such easements in number; and, WT-iEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that F. M. Highway 2820 would be to the advantage of the City of Paris and to the County of Lamar; NZ?W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CDUlVCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the Mayor, V. E. Stewart, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris the proffered channel easements to the Texas Highway Department, and also be authorized and di- rected to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris the proffered right of way deed to the Texas Highway Department covering some ten (10) sections of said Farm to Market Highway across the properties belonging to the Lake Gibbons area.
