O'CLOCK BY: Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk WITNESS: MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AUGUST 6, 2001 The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, August 6, 2001, 5:30 P.M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room 1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present: 1. Reeves Hayter 6. Louis Yates 2. Vincent Battles 7. Marshall Kent 3. Barbara Forrest 8. Bill Coleman 4. Eddie Vincent 9. Curtis Fendley 5. Bobby Myers Steve Methven, the building official was also present. The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. 1. The minutes from the July 2, 2001, regular planning and zoning meeting were approved with a motion by Curtis Fendley and seconded by Vincent Battles. Motion carried by a vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. 2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Kenny Kammer for a change in zoning from a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) to a General Retail District (GR), Lots 4, 5, 6,18, 19, 20 and part of Lots 3 and 17, Block I, Warren Addition. The public hearing was declared open. Kenny Kammer, 6625 Pecan Place, Paris, spoke in favor of the petition stating that he wants to purchase the property for future investment. There is one dilapidated house that would have to be torn down. In the future, Mr. Kammer would like to build an Assisted Living Home or a Retirement Center. The lot is under contract providing that he gets zoning and the alley closed. There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. Planning and Zoning Meeting July 3, 2001 Page 2 3. Motion was made to approve as Planned Development (b) by Eddie Vincent and seconded by Curtis Fendley. Motion carried by a vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. Reeves Hayterwas excused from consideration ofthe next item. Motion was made by Bill Coleman and seconded by Vincent Battles. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. 4. Consideration of and action on the recommendation of the Preliminary Plat, Oak Creek, Phase 10. Motion was made to approve by Bill Coleman and seconded by Bobby Myers, subject to the Building Official's Memo, dated August 6, 2001. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. Motion was made for Reeves Hayter to return to the meeting by Marshall Kent and seconded by Bill Coleman. Motion carried by a vote of S ayes and 0 nays.
