1137 RES CONSTRUCTION OF PAT MAYSE DAM AND RESERVOIR WAS AUTHORIZED BY FORMER SESSION OF CONGRESS

RESOLUTION NO. 1137 . WHEREAS, construction of the Pat Mayse Dam and Reservoir was authorized by former session of the Congress of the United States,and contra,cts have been awarded for much of the con- struction of the dam and construction has actually begun; and, WHEREAS, the President of the United States has placed in the Budget for the fiscal year 1966, the sum cf $5,500,000.00, for the construction of the Pat Mayse Dam and Reservoir; and, WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers of the Tulsa District Office have stated that their capability for the fiscal year 1966 would be $5,500,000.00 as contained in the Budget of the President of the United States; and, WHEREAS, a major plant of Campbell Soup Company has been constructed and is now in operation, and their requirements within the next two years for water will be in excess of the ability of the City of Paris, Texas to supply their rzquired water; NOW1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, That the City of Paris, Texas dozs earnestly petition and request the Congress of the United States to appropriate $5,500,000.00, as contained in the Budget of t,he President of the United States for the fiscal year 1966, thus enabling the City of Paris to meet its target date for the completion of the project in the yeax 1967. 1 Passed and a~lopted this lOth day o Nay, A.D., 1965. ~ Mayor ATT EST : City Clerk APP~OVm.. -AS TO FORM : s City Attorney.
