RESOLUTION NO. 1050 WHEREAS, the City of Paris has recently advertised for the leasing of the hay meadow on the Lake Gibbons property, and received bids therefor; and, WHEREAS, F. B. Bass bid the sum of $2, 336, 95 for the coming year for said hay, and the sum of $1, 750. 00 per year for a period of five (5) years for the lease of said hay; and, WHEREA, S, the City of Paris, on the 18th day of April, 1963, entered into a contract with F. B. Bass for the Lake Gibbons hay crop, for the sum of $2, 336. 95, for the year 1963; and, W HEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council that considerable shreddings and care is needed on the hay meadow, and that there might be an advantage to the future welfare of the hay crop on Lake Gibbons for portions of the land to be fertilized each year; and, WHEREAS, in the bid of F. B. Bass, on the five-year basis, he agreed to spend the sum of $750, 00 per year on fertilizer on the hay land; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has not yet determined whether it will be to the advantage of the hay to fertilize the same each year, and the City Council is now making an investigation to determine the feasibility of fertiliza- tion of native hay land; and, WHEREAS, the said F. B. Bass has agreed to keep the meadow shredded of weeds and underbrush and cleaned during the period of the five-year lease, and has agreed to surrender the lease dated April 18, 1963; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY QF PARIS, That the City Manager, H. C. Kennemer, be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into a lease with F. B. Bass for a period of five (5) years, beginning April 29, 1963, for the hay meadow located on the Lake Gibbons property, ex- cept such portions thereof which have already been committed to the Girls Scouts and the State Game and Fish Commission.
