<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, on the 9th day of
<br />July, A. I?. , 1962, did pass an ordinance amendi.ng Zoning Ordinance No.
<br />1409, changing from Residential to 'G" Commercial certain properties on
<br />the North Side of Bonham Street, on the East Side of 27th Street, N. W.
<br />and the West Side of 25th Street, N. W. ; and,
<br />WHEREAS, there is at the rear of said properties, a lot belonging
<br />to W. T. Murphy, fronting on 27th Street, N. W. and immediately North of a
<br />lot above zoned belonging to Lawrence McDowell, which lot is approximately
<br />67 1/2 feet East and West and 70 feet North and South; and,
<br />WHEREAS, there is a lot belonging to Mrs. W. E. McKnight and the
<br />heirs of W. E. McKnight, located immediately North of property belonging
<br />to the Hodg es Estate, which is included in the abov e zon ing ordinance
<br />amendment, and fronting on 25th Street, N. W. , on the West Side thereof,
<br />being approximately 112 feet, fronting on 25th Street, N. W. , and extending
<br />West from 25th Street, N. W. approximately 290. 5 feet; and,
<br />WHEREAS, there is a lot located at the North East intersection of
<br />25th Street, N. W. and Bonham Street, fronting approximate ly 72. 5 feet
<br />and extending North to the E. B. Line of 25th Street, N, W. approximately
<br />174 feet, belonging to Milburn Car lock, wh ich ia now occup ied by a
<br />groce ry and mar ket as a non-conforming structure; and,
<br />WHEREAS, there is a lot belonging to J. M. Gladden, fronting on the
<br />Ea st 5ide of 25th Street, N. W. a nd North of the Milbur n Car lock lot,
<br />approximately 64.33 feet on 25th Street, N. W. and extending East approxi-
<br />mately 145 feet, on which there is a tobacco and confecti.ons warehouse,
<br />which is a non-conforming structure; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that all of said pro-
<br />perties should be referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission, to
<br />change the areas involved from Residenti.a.l or non-conforming status to
<br />'G"Commercial sta,tus; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RE5 OLVE D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />That the question of changing the above areas from that of a Residenti.a.l
<br />District to a'G"Commercial District, in compliance with and under Zoning
<br />Or dinance No. 1409, be, and the same is hereby referred to the Planning
<br />and Zoning C ommis s ion.
<br />That all of the above and foregoing areas have bee n and ar e her eby
<br />referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the proper officials
<br />of the City of Paris are hereby authorized and directed to comply with the
<br />laws of the Sta.te of Texas with reference to the zo ning of the ab ove areas,
<br />and that a public hear ing be called for 7:00 o'clock P. M. , on th e 13th day
<br />of August, A. D., 1962, in the Council Room, in the City Hall, in the City of
<br />Paris, Texas.
