ON THE FIR.ST TUESI?AY IN APRIL, 1962, SAME BEING THE 3RD DAY OF APRIL, 1962, BE- TWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 O'CLOCK A. M. AND 7:00 O'CLOCK P. M., BY THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTIlVG THE FOLLOWING COUNCILMEN TO SERVE AS ME1vBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE ENSUING TWO YEARS. BE IT RESCLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: 5ection 1. That an election be held by the qualified voters of the City of Paris on the first Tuesday in April, 1962, same being the 3rd day of April, 1962, between the hours of 8:00 ofclock A. M. and 7:00 o'clock P. M. , for the purpose of electing four (4) members of the City Council of the City of Paris, as follows: One Councilman From Ward One (1) One Councilman From Ward Two 12) One Councilman From Ward Three (3) One Councilman From Ward Four (4) as provided in Section 16 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Paris, adopted on November 2, 1948, and in accorda.nce with Article IX of the Charter of the City of Paris, adopted November 2, 1948, such Councilmen to serve for the ensuing two years. Section Z. That the polling places and election offici.a.ls of such election shall be as follow s: Ward One (1): Polling Piace: Central Fire Station Officials: Mrs. R. C. Bearden Presiding Judge Mr. R. C. Bearden , Judge Mrs. L. B. Killebrew , Clerk Mrs. R. H. Lovver , Clerk Ward Two (2): Polling Place: Grand Hotel Lobby Officials: Mrs. Hu&h Collina , Presiding Judge Mr. Hugh Collins , Judge Mrs. Bertha Hodges , Clerk Mrs. Elizabeth Tompld.ns, Clerk Ward Three (3): Polling Place: Lamar County Courthouse, Basement Assembly Room. Officials: I?on Wair , Presiding Judge Mrs. Don Wair , Judge Mr$. Margaret B. Beard, Clerk Mra. M. L. McCubbin , Clerk Ward Four (4): Polling Place: Paris High School Gymnasium Officials: Mrs. H. L. Hollis , Presiding Judge Mrs. A. N. Nolan , Judge Mrs. R. K. Record , Clerk Mrs. Peter Barnett , Clerk Section 3. The Presiding Judge of the respective voting boxes shall desig- nate and appoint such additional, competent and qualified clerks for such re- spective polling places and voting boxes as may be required, if any, for the efficient conduct of said election. Section 4. Such election sha.ll be held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas governing general and municipal elections, insofar as the same may be applicable, and with the provisions of the City Charter and Ordinances of the City of Paris. Section 5. The Chief of Police of the City of Pa,ris is hereby directed and instructed to post a properly executed Notice of Electi.on pursua.nt to this order for election, signed by the Mayor of the City of Paris, at each of the polling places designa,ted above, which sa.id notices of election shall by him be posted not less than thirty (30) days prior to said election; further, a properly executed copy of such Notice of Election shall be published one time in the Paris News, the official newspaper of the City of Paris and a newspaper of general circula- tion in said City, which notice shall be published not less than twenty (20) days before said election. Section 6. The pay of the judges and clerks of said election is hereby au- thorized and eata.blished as follows: $8. 00 per day for each judge and clerk; the election judge who delivers the returns of the said election immediately after the votes haue been counted to the proper office shall be paid an additional sum of $2. 00 for that service, provided also, he aha.ll make return of all electi.on supplies not used when he makes returns of such election.
