0989 RES INDUSTRIAL COMMITTEE OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HAS CERTAIN PLANS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTIESRESOLUTION NO. 989 WHEREAS, the Industrial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and members of The Pa.ris, Texa.s Industrial Foundation, Inc., have pre- sented to the City Council of the City of Paris certain plans for the de- velopment of properties acquired from the City of Paris, known as the Old Legion Airport, located off of 19th Street, N. W. ; and, WHEREAS, for the future development of said area it will be necessary to furnish water to various industria.l concerns for use in the area and also for the purpose of completi.ng water line loops with the de- velopment of the area, in the North West partion of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, it has been agreed between The Paris, Texas Taldustrial Foundation, Inc. and the City of Paris, at a special meeting of the City Council, on January 11, 1962, that in order to serve such area and to corn- plete said development and looping of water lines, to lay a twelve inch (1211) water line and a six inch (611) sewer line to a point 125 feet West of the West Boundary Line of properties belonging to the Mansfield Tire Company, in order to serve not only a recent industry whi.ch is about to begin construction, known as The Superior Switchboard & Devices Company, but other prospective industri.a.l users of water and sewage in the area; and, WF3EREAS, the Gity of Paris does not have sufficient funds in its budget for the year 1961-1962 to complete said water line; and, WHEREAS, The Pa.ris, Texa,s Industrial Foundation, Inc. and the City of Paris have agreed to purchase materials and fittings for a twelve inch (1211) water line and a si.x inch (611) sewer line, and The Paris, Texas Tndustrial Foundation, Inc. has proposed to pay one-half of the cost of the materials and fittings, and the City to pay one-half of the cost of said rna- terials and fittings, and the City to provide the labor and equipment and lay each of said lines, and The Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc. has agreed to pay all of the costs of materials upon receipt of invoices therefor, and the City of Paris proposes to reimburse The Paris, Texas 7ridustrial Foundation, Znc. for one-half of said ma,terials on and following July 1, 1962, out of the budget year 1962-1963 funds; NOW, THEREFUR.E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARI.S, That the City Manager, H. C. Kennemer, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to order and purchase euch materials and lay said lines, at the earliest possible convenience, and to furnish the invoices to The Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc. for payment of such materials; the City to furnish the labor and equipment with which to lay said lines, and hereafter during the 1962-1963 budget, that the City Manager be authorized and directed to pay to The Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc., one-half of the cost of the materials and fittings for said lines.
