975 RES COP RECOGNIZES NEED TO INSURE ITS PROPER AND ORDERLY GROWTHRESOLUTION N0. 975
WAEREAS, the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas,
recognizes the need to insure its proper and orderly growth and to
prevent further development of undesirable physical conditions, and
WHEREAS, city planning is recognized to be of primary
iarportance for the further growth and development of the City of
Paris, and
WHEREAS, the financial resources of the City of Paris
are not adeq,uate to finance in whole the necessary an.d desirable
program in c3ty planning, and
WHEREAS, the Texas State Department of Health, acting
as the State Planning Agency, can arrange for the needed planning
and can arrange for the financial assistance from Federal sources,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of Paris, Texas, reguests the Texas State Department of Health to
arran.ge for the preparation of a topographic map and other mapping
and reports on socio-economic, land use, circulation and community
facilities studies, analyses and findings an.d to arrange for finan-
cial assistance in the sum of $22,600.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that to aid in defraying the
cost of the requested planning the City of Paris will make availa-
ble to tYe Texas State Department of Health the sum of $12,200.00
in payments at the time and in the amounts as stipulated in the
three-party planning cantract, and the City of Paris shall not be-
come liable for any payments unless and until it has executed the
three-party planning contract which wi11 hereafter be submitted to
it.
