WHEREAS, William C. Ragan has completed a service of four
years on the Gity Council of the Gity of Paris, Texas, and has just
finished his term from April, 1960 to April, 1961, in which he served
the City of Paris as its Mayor; and,
WHEREAS, during the time Mayor Ragan served as such
mayor, he gave unselfishly of his services for the best interests of
the City of Paris, even though during much of his term of office as a
councilman and as mayor the City Council was confronted with many
items of a controversial nature which had to be passed upon by the
City Council of the City of Paris, and as time goes on the citizens of
Paris will know and will become eternally grateful for his unselfish
devotion to the dignity befitting the office of councilman and mayor of
the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, his services have taken much time from his work
and family on many many occasions, and the members of the Gity
Council, and particularly those who served with him, are highly con-
scious of the value of his services to the City of Paris; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That we here and now express to the Honorable William C.
Ragan our whole and complete appreciation for his years of service
on the City Council and for his year of service as Mayor of the City
of Paris, and we do here and now extend to him our best wishes for
his continued interest in the future of the City of Paris and our best
wishes for the future of him and his loved ones.
