RESOLUTION NO. 961 <br />WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of 'che City of <br />Paris, on the 4th day of April, A. D. , 1961, for the purpose of voting for <br />and electing three (3) members at large of the City Council of the City of <br />Paris to serve for the ensuing two (2) years, to-wit: <br />Three Councilmen at Large <br />WHEREAS, as required by law and directed and provided by the Charter <br />and Ordinances of the City of Paris, such election was conducted and held <br />at four (4) specified and designated polling places, that is, one polling place <br />in each of the four (4) wards of the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly appointed <br />and designated election officials of and for the four (4) respective voting <br />boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Paris, <br />as required by law, which returns, after due and deliberate review and <br />canva s s the reof, show the follow ing re sults of said ele ction, to -wit: <br />(1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF <br />CAST AS FOLLOWS: <br />4A'1 VOTES WERE <br />For Three Councilmen at Large: <br />John F. Huddleston, 97 Votes; <br />LeeRoy Rieger, 201 Votes; <br />John E. Price, 295 Vote s; <br />Hayden Stripland, 383 Votes; <br />Arthur Gawthon, 362 Votes; <br />Write-In Candidates, 3 Votes. <br />(2) IN WARD TWO (2) A TOTAL OF 164 VOTES WERE <br />CAST AS FOLLOWS: <br />For Three Councilmen at Large: <br />John F. Huddleston, <br />54 Votes; <br />LeeRoy Rieger, 60 <br />Votes; <br />John E. Price, 91 <br />Votes; <br />Hayden Stripland, 137 <br />Votes; <br />Arthur Cawthon, 122 Votes; <br />Write-In Candidates, <br />0 Votes. <br />(3) IN WARD THREE (3) A TOTAL OF 204 VOTES WERE <br />CAST AS FOLLOWS: <br />For Three Councilmen at Large: <br />John F. Huddleston, <br />75 Votes; <br />LeeRoy Rieger, 53 <br />Votes; <br />John E.
